How to choose the best WiFi channel

What are WiFi channels?
WiFi is a wireless network technology that uses a specific range of frequencies to limit the interference with other type of equipment and devices.

Here is the list of channels and frequencies of the ISM Band (2.4 GHz):
 • Channel 1: 2.412 MHz
 • Channel 2: 2.417 MHz
 • Channel 3: 2.422 Mhz
 • Channel 4: 2.427 Mhz
 • Channel 5: 2.432 Mhz
 • Channel 6: 2.437 Mhz
 • Channel 7: 2.442 Mhz
 • Channel 8: 2.447 Mhz
 • Channel 9: 2.452 Mhz
 • Channel 10: 2.457 MHz
 • Channel 11: 2.462 MHz
 • Channel 12: 2.467 MHz
 • Channel 13: 2.472 MHz
 • Channel 14: 2.484 MHz

How to choose a WiFi channel?
To be able to communicate with each other, all the components of a WiFi network must use the same channel. For a WiFi network in infrastructure mode, the channel be defined by the access point. However, most people use the default channel. Multiple networks sharing the same frequencies, in the same area, can lead to several problems:
 • Slow connection.
 • Connection timeout.

For best results, you should configure your access point and clients based on the least used channel in your area. You can use the following softwares to list the WiFi networks and the channels being used,

Configuring your WiFi router
 • Using a web-browser, connect to the router's web interface, using the right URL (check in the user manual).
 • Enter the username and password.
 • The router address looks like this: 192.168.xx.xx
 • Search for the "Wireless Channel" or any similar entry.
 • Select a default channel and save your settings.

The amazing keyboard of Surface(Instruction)

It's time to type again

Microsoft isn't just introducing a new tablet — it's got a couple of novel accessories up its sleeve too
. I'm speaking, of course, about the clever hybrid products that do double duty as protective covers
 and physical keyboards, called the Touch Cover and the Type Cover.

The Touch Cover has been more visible in Microsoft's advertising of the Surface, and rightfully so.
 Not only is it a very new kind of product for tablets, but the company is offering it in a variety of bright
 colors that are extremely eye catching. While both the Touch and Type Cover snap onto the bottom
of the tablet using a set of pogo connectors and a strong magnet, the Touch Cover is unique in that it's
 a physical keyboard with no moving parts. Instead, there is a set of raised keys on the soft, material-like
surface. And not just keys, but a fully functional multitouch trackpad with two buttons.

On a desk or other flat surface, the Touch Cover works reasonably well. It doesn't come close to
 replicating a physical, tactile keyboard, but it does do a good job of reminding you where your fingers
 need to be. I was surprised that it often took a little more pressure on the keys to get input to register,
 but once I figured out the appropriate heaviness, it wasn't too much of an issue. My typing rate seemed
to increase as I used the cover more, though I found myself mistyping and having to correct
 (and re-correct) errors I had made. It might be a matter of adjustment, but it wasn't a completely
 pain-free experience.

The Touch Cover feels excellent on the device from a screen protection standpoint, and it feels good
when you wrap it over the back of the device (as you'd fold back a magazine or book). The Surface has
a way of sensing what position the cover is in using its accelerometer, though I did experience a few glitches
 where the cover was on the back of the Surface, but still sending chaotic key presses to the device.
Luckily this issue was few and far between.

The Type Cover is another story altogether — it's one of the best portable keyboards I've ever used.
 Like the Touch Cover, it functions as a screen protector, but unlike the Touch Cover, it has a full
complement of great-feeling, tactile keys. Typing on it was akin to working on my MacBook Air, and
I rarely made mistakes because of the size of the keyboard or the positioning of the keys. It really was
 a joy to use.

I do have two issues with the accessory, however. The first is that it's a bit uncomfortable to use when
 it's wrapped around the back of the device; feeling keys under your fingers is just not reassuring.
Secondly, a handful of times I had keys pop up slightly off of their retainer, making for missed presses
 and the need to realign and replace the key where it should have been. It's not a huge deal, and it's
certainly something that happens on laptop keyboards from time to time, but with all of the action this
 accessory will see, it is a little worrisome.

Both covers are relatively expensive ($119 for the Touch Cover and $129 for the Type Cover), and both
 have plusses and minuses — but I do think they make the Surface a more attractive device, and I think
 it's somewhat incomplete without at least one of them. Microsoft seems to agree, hence its $599 bundle
 that includes the Touch Cover. One caveat — you don't get to pick your color, so you might want to
 spend that extra $20, buy the pieces separately, and show off your wild side.

How To Hide the Opera Mini 8 Virtual Keypad On Touchscreen Phones

When the Java ME version of the Opera Mini Browser is running on many touch screen phones, an unnecessary virtual keypad appears at the bottom of the screen. The keypad wastes space, looks ugly and isn't needed with touch aware apps like Opera Mini. The keypad is not part of Opera Mini. It's something your phone adds because it doesn't recognize that Opera Mini is optimized for touch.

There are several ways to get rid of the virtual keypad, but first of all make sure that you are using an official version of Opera Mini because it's customized for your phone to remove the virtual keypad, you get the original version by visiting m.opera.com from your mobile built-in browser.
If you did so and still facing the problem, here is the easiest solution for that which consists on modifying the Opera Mini jad file.

For this tutorial you can use both you pc or phone.
First of all download Mini.jad file from m.opera.com then open it with MiniCommander or any other file manager that supports text editing (use notepad for exemple if you are using pc). Once opened scroll to the bottom and add this several lines inside :

 1. MIDlet-Touch-Support: true
 2. UseNativeTextButtons: hide
 3. ReverseSoftkeys: hide
 4. UseNativeCommands: hide
 5. Navi-Key-Hidden: true
 6. Nokia-MIDlet-On-Screen-Keypad: no
 7. MIDlet-ScreenMode: ROTATE
 8. MIDlet-Landscape-Support: true
 9. LGE-MIDlet-Width: 240
 10. LGE-MIDlet-Height: 400
 11. LGE-MIDlet-On-Screen-Keypad: no
 12. LGE-MIDlet-Display-Mode: both
Copy the Code

Now save you file .. And that's it ..
If you are not able to do that, here is the modified file just download it ..

Add apps to Nokia Menu S40 phones

To add an icon to the main menu we have any skills relating to the modification
*.1stIf you do not have aJADfile ...JADfile, you can easily create from a program:
JAD Creator
or
JAD Maker
I usedJADCreator
WE NEED TO KNOW AND GET
MIDlet NameandVendor MIDlet
*.2ndIf you have aJADfile ...If the application was attached to theJADfile, you do not have it already set up, but only a "preview" what's inside ... We are interested in is the same as above - the lineMIDletMIDlet NameandVendor.Ready application (JAD+JAR) to throw content, predefjava folder somewhere - wherever (whether the application or game, or directly in predefjava) - the phone itself can find them when you first start the phone.
*.3rdWe have prepared applications - and what's next?Now with content draw a very important file from - predefhiddenfolder \ predefmenus \ menusettings.xml and open it with a text editor (eg WordPad).
Its contents should look something like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<menu_settings>
<version major="1" minor="5" />
<mainmenuview value="list" />
<mainmenu>
<menuitem id="78" />
<menuitem id="73" />
<menuitem id="66" />
<menuitem id="67" />
<menuitem id="79" />
<menuitem id="69" />
<menuitem id="71" />
<menuitem id="70" />
<menuitem id="68" />
<menuitem id="72" />
<menuitem id="75" />
</mainmenu>
<idle_shortcuts>
<visual_indication value="off" />
<left_softkey id="3" />
<right_softkey id="2" />
<scroll_up id="23" />
<scroll_right id="51" />
<scroll_down id="2" />
<scroll_left id="5" />
</idle_shortcuts>
<gotomenu>
<menuitem id="37" />
<menuitem id="117" />
<menuitem id="16" />
<menuitem id="34" />
<menuitem id="40" />
<menuitem id="45" />
</gotomenu>
<shortcutbar>
<menuitem id="51" />
<menuitem id="32" />
<menuitem id="17" />
<menuitem id="23" />
<menuitem id="37" />
</shortcutbar>
</menu_settings>

In <mainmenu> tag contains information about the display icons (in our case there are only the standard).
Now, between the markers and <mainmenuview> <version> <nativelinks> and add the tag line:
<nlink id="1">localapp://jam/launch?midlet-name=MIDlet Name;midlet-vendor=MIDlet Vendor</nlink>
The ID is the number of our icons (any). In place of the MIDlet Name write what was in the JAD file in mniejscu "MIDlet Name" - in my case TTPod, in place of the contents of the MIDlet Vendor "Vendor MIDlet" JAD file for the application. For example:
Application:  OperaMIDlet-Name: Opera MiniMIDlet-Vendor: Opera Software ASA
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<menu_settings>
<version major="1" minor="5" />
<nativelinks>
<nlink id="1">localapp://jam/launch?midlet-name=Opera%20Mini;midlet-vendor=Opera%20Software%20ASA</nlink>
</nativelinks>
<mainmenuview value="labelgrid" />
<mainmenu>
<menuitem id="78" />
<menuitem id="73" />
<menuitem id="66" />
<menuitem nlink="1"/>
<menuitem id="67" />
<menuitem id="79" />
